Context & Objectives
A leading debt collection agency engaged Agilytic to enhance its operational efficiency and liquidity management. The primary challenge was to optimize the end-to-end collection lifecycle, specifically by gaining better visibility into administrative workflows and maximizing the productivity of field specialists responsible for debtor visits.
Approach
Our intervention focused on rationalizing complex processes and deploying smart resource allocation:
Process Mapping & Valuation: We mapped the diverse workflows required for the agency’s various clients to reduce administrative complexity. This included developing real-time dashboards to flag bottlenecks and a profitability model that prioritized high-value cases while filtering out those with negative expected returns (where costs exceeded recovery).
Dynamic Workforce Dispatching: Addressing the inefficiencies of static, postcode-based assignments, we developed a dynamic dispatching tool. This solution utilized geospatial data to optimize daily itineraries based on case proximity and travel time, eliminating workload imbalances and maximizing field agent utilization.
Results
The project demonstrated that significant operational shifts can yield rapid financial benefits. By automating case prioritization and optimizing field routes, the client achieved a positive return on investment within weeks. Key outcomes included a measurable increase in total amounts recouped and the elimination of idle time for field staff through balanced workload distribution.
