Context & objectives
Gaps in data capture, documentation, and transformation can quickly escalate into significant data quality challenges, hindering strategic decision-making.
A leading bank found itself grappling with this reality, uncertain how to prioritize data initiatives. With a vast number of partnerships, the company was looking to effectively leverage its vast commercial data to expand its client base.
Recognizing the need for expert guidance, they asked Agilytic to develop a clear data roadmap, one that could help:
consolidate the needs of diverse departments,
alleviate operational frustrations,
and execute their data-driven vision.
Approach
Initially, Agilytic’s experts met with the bank’s critical stakeholders across ten departments in order to assess and identify the highest-impact needs.
This meeting concluded with insights from marketing, finance, customer relations, IT, sales, and post-sales teams. The goal was to develop and leverage a complete picture of commercial data in the data roadmap. The next steps were:
Iterating different versions of this data roadmap with the bank’s data model manager
Consolidating all data needs collected through interviews in an Excel deliverable
Grouping and prioritizing these requests based on the immediate impact they could have in converting cooperators to customers
Identifying three reports to prioritize for this data infrastructure in the short term
Suggesting a data architecture to meet the bank’s needs and support future reporting requirements.
Results
In just 20 days, the bank saw a considerable improvement in its approach and prioritization of data projects since adopting the data roadmap’s insights.
Now, there is clarity on the current data management situation. With a comprehensive outlook, concrete data projects can be launched with an accurate estimation of impact and effort required. This saves the client’s teams countless planning hours in advance of each project.
