Where we started
In 2015, "data science" was still a phrase most executives raised an eyebrow at. We bet that companies didn't need more hype, they needed someone who would sit with them, understand the real problem, and see it through to something that works. That bet held up. Over ten years we've delivered more than 400 projects, across most sectors. We built a team of around 30 people in Belgium who are as comfortable in a data pipeline as they are in a boardroom.
None of that changes. It just gets a bigger platform.
The news
Artefact, a global data and AI consultancy with more than 2,500 people across 27 countries, has acquired Agilytic. Artefact opened its Brussels office earlier this year, and we're now part of building out its Belgian and Benelux presence together. Read the press release here.
I want to be direct about what this is and what it isn't. It isn't a boutique running out of road and finding an exit. It's a decision Christophe and I made because it makes us better at the thing we've always cared about: helping Belgian organisations get real value from data and AI.
Why Artefact
We had a lot of options over the years. What made this one different was how quickly it became clear we speak the same language.
Artefact's view is that AI is first and foremost a human story. The technology delivers when people understand it, trust it, and make it their own. That's the same belief Agilytic was built on. In our first conversations, there was none of the usual translation work between two firms trying to sound aligned. We already were.
The practical fit matters too. Artefact brings its AI Factory model, a large library of industry-specific accelerators, and a worldwide bench of engineers and data scientists. For the kind of ambitious, production-grade work our clients increasingly ask for, that's exactly the depth and scale we couldn't offer on our own.
What this means for our clients
If you work with us today, the first thing you'll notice is that not much feels different, and that's on purpose. Same team, same people who know your context, same hands-on approach.
What grows is the ceiling of what we can take on. Deeper industry expertise, more specialised talent when a project needs it, and the ability to move from AI strategy all the way to deployment at scale without hitting the limits of a 30-person shop.
If you're thinking about joining us
For anyone weighing up a career in data and AI, this is worth paying attention to. You now get the culture that made Agilytic a good place to work, senior local mentorship, real client contact, no PowerPoint-factory treatment, combined with the career paths, international exposure and technical resources of a global firm.
We're hiring for the next phase, and it's a genuinely good moment to come in.
Looking ahead
Ten years in, this is the most excited I've been about what comes next. The mission hasn't moved: put data and AI to work on problems that actually matter, and deliver results people can trust. We just have a lot more behind us now to do it well.
If you'd like to talk about what this means for your organisation, or where data could make a difference for you, let's have a conversation.
