AI literacy for your staff
The AI Act literacy duty, in plain words
Article 4 of the EU AI Act has applied since 2 February 2025. Following its 2026 amendment, providers and deployers must take measures to support the development of AI literacy among staff and others dealing with AI on their behalf. No specific individual level is prescribed. National supervision and enforcement rules apply from 2 August 2026.
Training on the tools people actually use, with your internal rules and realistic examples, can be one part of those measures. The right approach depends on your organisation, the people involved and the risks of the systems you use.
What participants learn
What generative AI and AI agents are, and where they go wrong
Which data may go into which tool in your company

Recognising uses that may need specialist review, including recruitment and credit decisions, and knowing whom to ask
Hands-on practice on your company’s assistant: Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini
Format
Tailored to your teams: length, groups and depth are set with you, on site or remote, in French, English or Dutch
Lighter for teams that only use AI occasionally, deeper for power users and managers
A record of who attended and what was covered, which you can keep as evidence of the measures taken
Optional: help writing or updating your AI use policy

Frequently asked questions
Is AI literacy training mandatory?
Article 4 requires measures to support AI literacy among the people dealing with AI on your behalf. It does not mandate one particular course, a fixed duration or a certificate. Documented training and guidance can contribute, depending on your systems, users and risks.
Since when?
Article 4 has applied since 2 February 2025. Its wording was amended in 2026; national supervision and enforcement rules apply from 2 August 2026.
Who supervises it in Belgium?
Supervision is handled by national market surveillance authorities, not the European AI Office. Confirm the competent Belgian authority and the requirements relevant to your organisation with your legal team.
Does this replace legal advice?
No. We cover practical skills and internal rules. Your legal team assesses your obligations. Completing this course is not certification of compliance.
